Zahra Bayero, the daughter of Nasiru Ado Bayero, the emir of Bichi in Kano State, has married Yusuf Buhari, President Muhammadu Buhari’s son.

The couple was united at a Fatiha wedding, which took place on Friday.

Buhari and his vice president, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, arrived to the wedding separately. The president flew in on a presidential plane, while Osinbajo flew in on a helicopter.

The event was attended by the couple’s relatives and friends. Women can be seen singing and dancing to hiphop music in recordings taken at the event. Zahra Buhari-Indimi, Yusuf’s sister, was also present for the event.

The couple’s relatives, friends, and the daughter of Bauchi State Governor Fatima Zahra Bala and her husband were among those who attended the wedding.

Bashir Ahmad, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal Assistant on New Media, and his newlywed wife were also present at the wedding.

Prof Ibrahim Gambari, the president’s chief of staff, was among the presidential delegation to the wedding.

Maj. Gen. Bashir Magashi (retd.) the minister of defence; Sabo Nanono the minister of agriculture; and Hadi Sirika the minister of aviation were part of the presidential delegation present.

Yusuf, the president’s only son, met Zahra at the University of Surrey in the United Kingdom. At the time, Zahra was a student of architecture.

Apart from the wedding, Ado-Bayero the bride’s father will be crowned as Bichi’s next emir.
