Police allegedly takes two children from comedian Nedu’s ex-wife, hands them to Nedu
According to The Punch, policemen from the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba, Lagos, seized two children from Uzoamaka Ohiri, who is ex-wife to comedian Chinedu Ani, a.k.a Nedu wazobia and gave them over to the comedian.
Ohiri was asked to visit CSP Margaret Ighodalo in a letter of invitation with reference letter CR:3000/LSX/D10/Vol.3/71 written by Fayoade Adegoke, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the SCID.
She was then told to stop writing derogatory comments about the comedian on social media and to report to the SCID on a regular basis.
CSP Ighodalo is said to have instructed Ohiri to bring two of her three children to the SCID, where their father, Nedu, was given over.
One of Ohiri’s relatives who did not want his name in print was quoted as saying; “Can you imagine the Police are interfering in a civil matter because Nedu is influential?
“This is nothing but oppression. Why should children be brought to SCID? Now, they have been handed over to Nedu. This is sad.”
In the previous month, Ohiri and Nedu have been embroiled in a tumultuous feud.
She had publicly called out her ex-husband, accusing him of domestic violence and failing to care for their two children.
Nedu retaliated by sharing the results of their first kid and only son’s DNA test, which revealed that he was not the boy’s biological father.
When contacted by phone, CSP Ighodalo stated that she was unable to comment on the situation and directed reporters to the Police Public Relations Officer.
