The Chairman of the Obanliku Local Government Area in Cross River State, Hon. Evangelist Margaret Inde, has ’empowered’ some pilot farmers in the council with a hoe,cutlass, and one tuber of yam each.

The goods were presented by the LG boss at activities commemorating the Obanliku LGA’s 30th anniversary, as well as the New Yam festival, which took place on Friday, August 27.

On social media, the empowerment initiative has garnered mixed comments, with some criticising Mrs Inde’s gesture and others blaming the able-bodied men who lined up to collect the gifts from her.
