“I was directed by God to join APC” — Fani-Kayode speaks on his defection to APC (video)
Femi Fani-Kayode, a one time aviation minister, has disclosed why he defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to reports, FFK as he is fondly called joined the ruling party on Thursday after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari and other party leaders at the Presidential Villa.
Kayode, who was overjoyed, revealed that his decision to defect was inspired by God.
He claimed that the Spirit of God guided him in his decision, and that he joined the APC to contribute to the country’s unity, noting that he was opposed to anything that would lead to Nigeria’s disintegration.
The feisty politician has been a vocal critic of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration. He is well-known for regularly hurling obscenities and harsh criticism at the party, even pledging once that he would never join again.
