Crossdresser arrested by Vigilantes in Kogi
The Kogi State Vigilante Group in charge of Adavi Local Government has arrested a crossdresser simply known as Ilyasu.
At this time, it is unclear what offence has been committed by him.
Ilyasu, a young male dressed as a lady, was apprehended by the vigilante group on Wednesday morning, August 25, in Zariagi community, Adavi LGA, after they accused him of making suspicious gestures.
When questioned, he confessed that he is a dancer and a native of Ofu local government area of the state, but he did not tell what he was doing in the community.
Hon. Joseph Omuya Salami, the Chairman of the local government where Iliyasu was apprehended, instructed the Vigilante Group to hand him over to the Nigeria Army for further questioning and investigation into his actions.
Engr. M. Jamiu Habeeb, Adavi LG’s SA Media & Publicity, confirmed that the Nigerian Army has taken command of the situation, that the matter will be investigated, and that any suspects found guilty of any criminal act will face trial.
