WCQ: Iheanacho, Ndidi and Iwobi arrive Super Eagles Camp

The Super Eagles Camp for the upcoming world cup qualification games is officially Open with the arrival of Adekunle Adeleke from Aba Warriors and Daniel Akpeyi from South Africa. 

Likewise Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi and  Wilfred Ndidi, all of whom are based in England, have followed suit but will be unavailable for the trip to Cape Verde due to UK COVID-19 requirements.

On Friday, September 3rd, the Super Eagles host Liberia at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere, Lagos state, in the first match of their Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign.

Following that is a trip to Cape Verde on Tuesday, September 7th, which the Super Eagles players based in Spain and England will very certainly miss due to UK COVID-19 laws on red-list nations, of which Cape Verde is one.

The Premier League and Spanish La Liga clubs have decided to suspend their players from international matches in red-list countries, depriving national sides of prominent players.

According to UK COVID-19 regulations, players returning from red-list countries must undergo a necessary ten-day quarantine, depriving clubs of their players’ availability for at least three league and cup matches.
