Nigerians hate Fulanis because of Buhari and El-Rufai — Kish Adamu

Mr Kish Adamu, a former governorship aspirant in Kaduna State, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari and Kaduna State governor, Malam Nasir el-Rufai, have made the Fulani the most hated ethnic in Nigeria by their actions and inactions.

In a conversation with reporters, Adamu, who is also a former attorney-general and commissioner for justice in Kaduna State, revealed this.

He claimed that the president and the governor of Kaduna State have refused to play a neutral position as leaders, causing the Fulani to be hated.

Adamu, who described himself as a close ally of the Fulani, said he grew up with many of them and that they maintain amicable relations.

He said, “Governor el-Rufai has been a chief defender of these vile bandits who have ravaged many communities in Southern Kaduna. He seems to be their spokesman. He said things like they’re carrying out reprisal, on the other hand he speaks about non-negotiation. He also said he has paid them lots of money to stop killing the people and he also speaks about their tendency and capacity for revenge.

“It is so unfortunate that the communities that are attacked in Southern Kaduna are not far from military checkpoints. They only stand and watch.”

According to Adamu, the recent attacks and deaths in Zango Kataf villages took place barely three kilometres from a military checkpoint, but the bandits arrived in Toyota Hilux Vans, carried out their heinous deeds, and then fled without being stopped.

He claimed that the government’s actions were merely exacerbating the problem, forcing individuals to react in an unhelpful manner.

He accused the legislators of not considering national interest and what is best for the country.
