Nigerians react as Aisha Buhari says parents should also be made to stay at home alongside their children to prevent spread of coronavirus
First Lady of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari has said it is not enough to close down schools while parents still have to go to work, because those same parents will go home and infect their kids.
She tweeted:
“It is commendable that state governors have closed down schools; however, this could be counterproductive if parents are still going to work. We should not isolate students and expose their parents. Let us remember that they will meet at home. #TotalLockDown #StayAtHome.”
However, Nigerians responded by asking what plans the government has put in place to cater to citizens if they do not work to make money for their families.
