Nollywood veteran actor Rich Oganiru has died after a protracted battle with an undisclosed illness.

It can be recalled that the actor who died on Tuesday 10th August was only weeks ago shown in a video clip while lying in hospital bed seeking financial help.

The caption on the post read, “Please, everyone should reach out before he dies,”

His death was confirmed on Facebook by a friend.

Some years back the veteran actor was embroiled in controversy when he was arrested for allegedly murdering his wife. He defiantly maintained his innocence at the time.

According to news sources at the time, Oganiru was detained after a petition was filed by the family and relatives of his late wife, alleging that she was poisoned by the actor in order for him to inherit her fortune.

He had been in a number of Nollywood films.
