Soludo says Waec Certificate holders cannot lead Anambra State
Prof Chukwuma Soludo, an All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship candidate, has chastised his fellow candidates for declaring merely the WAEC Certificate as their highest educational achievement.
During the launch of the APGA National Campaign Council in Dr Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, Soludo said Anambra has outgrown being governed by people with such poor educational qualifications.
On Thursday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced a list of candidates for the Anambra Governorship race, with most candidates claiming several degrees submitting only WAEC certificates.
After a series of court fights, the candidate who was recognized as APGA’s standard-bearer by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday claimed the November 6 governorship race in the state is APGA’s.
“APGA has a star-studded team for this election, and it is the party with the best brains.
“Look at other political parties and their candidates, and you will find out that they have just First School certificates and others Waec as their qualifications.
Is it First School Leaving Certificate and WAEC that they will use to govern Anambra? Anambra has outgrown such kind of state and you can not use those certificates to govern Anambra. Look at my running mate, Dr Onyekachi Ibezim, a medical doctor. You can’t beat our team.”
Soludo thanked God for the victory he received from the Appeal Court’s decision. He maintained that, following the judgement, APGA was no longer divided into factions.
He added that: “APGA will contest for every vote, in every ward, in every church, in every local government, and we are confident of victory.”
