BBNaija: ‘I once ran away from home, mum found out only after one year’ — Angel

Angel, one of the‘shine ya eye’ housemates on Big Brother Naija, has revealed further details about her relationship with her 37-year-old mother, Titi.

Angel, who previously said she was always on the move to get away from her toxic family, admitted she dropped out of school and ran away from home in 2018, but her mother didn’t find out until a year later. She said this in a talk with Saskay on September 1st.

Speaking about her relationship with her mother, the 21-year-old slammed African parenting. According to her, the traditional African parent’s approach to child rearing is toxic.

She stated,

“My mother didn’t know when I ran away from home and school until 2019. I ran away from home in 2018 when I dropped out of UNILAG and she didn’t find out till a year after. That’s how African parenting can make you make some decisions.”
